“By love serve one another.” — Galatians 5:13 ( KJV)

Our journey to Nanay Vicky began through our dear sister in faith, Nanay Nita. Knowing that Nanay Vicky was a widow struggling with her health, she suggested that we visit her. However, as a devoted Catholic and an active member of the Handmaids for God, a community for widowed women, Nanay Vicky was hesitant to welcome missionaries into her home.

Still, we prayed and trusted God to lead the way. By His grace, Nanay Nita eventually shared the good news that Nanay Vicky was willing to receive us. During our first visit, we introduced ourselves and offered a prayer. That simple invitation became the beginning of a friendship we had never expected.

On our next visit, we gave her a gentle foot massage. Through this simple act of service, we wanted to show her that we came not to convince her of anything, but to share God's love through kindness and compassion. As our visits continued, we learned about an accident she had experienced a year earlier. She had slipped in her kitchen and landed heavily on her hips, leaving her struggling to walk properly. Even simple movements had become difficult, making everyday activities a challenge.

Through our regular visits, prayers, inspirational songs, conversations, and foot massages, we hoped to bring her comfort and encouragement. Little by little, Nanay Vicky began opening not only her home but also her heart. The unfamiliar faces she had once hesitated to welcome gradually became friends she could trust.

One moment that touched us deeply was when Nanay Vicky expressed her surprise that we would willingly give our time and effort to care for her. We gently explained that we had come not to be served, but to serve—to share God's love through simple acts of kindness. With every visit, we witnessed how these small gestures nurtured trust and brought joy into her life. What began as a simple visitation had grown into a friendship built on faith, patience, and genuine care.

Today, Nanay Vicky is no longer just someone we visit; she has become our Bible student and dear friend. As we continue our visitations, we have been grateful to witness encouraging changes in her condition. The woman who once struggled to walk properly after falling on her hips can now slowly walk again.

Every small step is proof that healing can be a journey of patience, perseverance, and faith. One gentle touch at a time, God's love continues to reach Nanay Vicky, reminding us that even the smallest acts of service can become part of a beautiful journey toward healing.
