When Ministry Hits Different: Experiencing God’s Love in the Evangelistic Meetings

Through the evangelistic meetings held at the end of September, I encountered the love of God in a way that didn’t just inspire me—it changed me. I came into this mission with the mindset that I was there to help, to serve, and to give. But as the days unfolded, I slowly realized that God had something deeper in store for me.

This evangelistic effort was especially meaningful as we worked alongside church members from Australia, and later, the 65th batch of the One Thousand Missionary Movement joined us. At first, we struggled with limited manpower, and I honestly wondered how everything would come together. But right on time, God provided. When the missionaries arrived, every gap was filled. In that moment, I began to see that this mission was never dependent on us—God was leading every step, and we were simply part of His greater plan.

Even before the meetings began, we had been conducting a branch Sabbath School every Sunday in Purok 18. The children and their families became very close to my heart. When they started attending the evangelistic meetings, I felt such deep joy. Each day during Vacation Bible School, we sang songs, shared Bible stories, and prayed together. As I watched the children grow closer to Jesus, I realized something quietly shifting within me. I thought I was the one teaching them, but in reality, their simple faith was teaching me how to trust God more.

Our daily routine was not easy. Mornings and afternoons were spent going house-to-house, sharing God’s Word, and connecting with people. In the evenings, we gathered again for the main meetings. There were moments when I felt physically tired, but every smile, every story, and every open heart gave me renewed strength. Through these experiences, I learned that the gospel is not only shared through words—it is lived out through genuine love and presence.

One of the most unforgettable moments happened on the final Sabbath during the baptismal call. A mother from Purok 18 stood up, and then her young daughter followed, gently holding her hand as they walked forward together. Tears filled my eyes as I witnessed that moment. It was simple, yet powerful—a clear reminder that the Holy Spirit was working in ways we could never fully see.

Looking back, I realize that while I came to help others, I was the one who received more—more grace, more joy, and a deeper understanding of God’s love. God used this mission not just to reach others, but to transform my own heart. And that is something I will carry with me wherever He leads next.
