"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6, NKJV
In September, we once again witnessed the quiet, undeniable goodness of the Lord in our mission field. It is a reminder that God intimately knows every struggle we face, which is exactly why we continue to trust Him and serve faithfully in His presence.Yet, honesty demands a confession: when I first arrived here, I was plagued by questions. Why did God place me in this specific community? Am I actually making a difference, or am I just occupying space?
Slowly, through a series of unexpected events, the Lord began to whisper His answers.

Many years ago, Brother Jojit was a vibrant, active member of the church. But life has a way of pulling people off course. Over time, he drifted away—not just for a season, but for twenty-five long years. He stopped attending church, stopped serving, and walked a lonely path.
Yet, God never forgot where He left him. After a series of painful trials, Jojit finally reached the end of himself. He realized how far he had wandered and how desperately he needed the Father. Moved by the Holy Spirit, he didn’t just return; he surrendered his life entirely to God’s service. From that moment, miracles began to unfold. His radical dedication ultimately led him to become a church elder—a living, breathing monument to God’s restoring grace.

But Elder Jojit’s homecoming was immediately met with a heavy spiritual battle. Within his own household, family members were deeply entangled in illegal drug use. It was a burden that brought him immense sorrow and public shame. Yet, his faith refused to break. He prayed without ceasing for his family to meet the Christ who had just rescued him.
When we arrived in this mission field, Elder Jojit found a renewed sense of hope. Together, we began visiting his home and conducting Bible studies. In the beginning, it was discouraging. Some family members showed up drunk; others were completely indifferent. But we kept showing up, leaning on patient, prayerful effort and the quiet power of the Holy Spirit. Then, the atmosphere shifted.

We noticed one of Elder Jojit’s brothers, who used to actively avoid us, began sitting in on the studies. We couldn't pinpoint the exact word that pierced his heart, but it was clear the Holy Spirit was rewriting his story. Just as hope was blooming, crisis struck. This same brother fell severely ill.
We worried the physical suffering might drive him back to his old coping mechanisms. Instead, something miraculous happened: he endured the trial with a steadfast faith. Upon his recovery, he made a decision that shocked us all. He looked at us and asked to be re-baptized. It was a moment of pure, unexpected joy. God’s timing completely outran our expectations. Elder Jojit rejoiced, and together, we wept and praised God for a miracle twenty-five years in the making.

Through this frontline experience, I realized something deeply personal. We often stress over why we are placed in a certain mission or season. But in the middle of our doubts, the Lord gently whispers, "Do not question the placement; just trust the Planner."
If we simply stay faithful, the Holy Spirit will direct our steps. In time, the fog clears, and we see how perfectly we fit into His divine tapestry. Wherever the Lord places us, we become His instruments to shift the atmosphere. Our presence may feel small, but when we carry heaven's fragrance, the environment has to change. When I look back at the wreckage of a twenty-five-year departure and the dark shadow of addiction that once held this family captive, I see more than just answered prayers—I see the undeniable hand of a God who refuses to lose. What looked impossible became a reality. What was broken was beautifully restored. What was lost was fiercely found.

This is the hidden beauty of serving exactly where God places you. Even when you feel ineffective, even when the ground feels hard and the progress feels painfully slow, His Spirit is moving silently beneath the surface, preparing hearts for redemption.
We may not always understand the geography of our assignment, but we can be absolutely certain of the outcome: absolute victory in Christ. His grace can penetrate the hardest hearts, His love can heal the deepest wounds, and His purpose will never fail.
You see, you are never misplaced. Where God places you, purpose will find you. And when purpose finds you, watch closely—because miracles are bound to follow.
